Most New Yorkers know Queens Plaza as a transfer stop between subways, the location of some gawd-awful courthouses, and a shopping mall or two. But homos in the know are also aware that it's the beginning of a short bus ride to Rikers Island—and if you're looking for some rough trade, that's where to go. (Uh, or so we've been told.) "Queens Plaza Pickup" is built around that theme: ex-cons are dropped off at this bus stop and are ready to do anything to make a few bucks. Not the most original concept, but this is the first offering by Real Urban Men, the new all-black line by the Latino Fan Club, and includes somewhat more full-on hardcore action than their usual offerings. The standout is the third scene where Shorty (= impossibly gorgeous, muscled, bowlegged and yes, short) arrives at a job interview and demonstrates the vocational skills that he developed behind bars. "I learned to take orders, " he says while to his knees. Sounds perfectly rehabilitated to us.
